~ COZY UP TO A GOOD BOOK ~
Thanks to all who participated in this year's adult winter reading program! We have 2 EXTRA
lucky readers this year! In all, 61 participants submitted 324 titles, and 7 prize baskets and 2 afghans were
awarded by random drawing. Although no single submission was eligible for more than one prize, everyone who entered had
a chance to win one of the two grand prize afghans. This year's big winners were Lynne Kerick and Linda Trimble. Congratulations
to both of them! Keep reading, and we will see you all next January for our 3rd annual adult winter reading program. Our
summer program will be coming up before you know it, too!

Grand Prize Cozy Throw (3/6/2012) Linda Trimble
Grand Prize USA Afghan (3/6/2012) Lynne Kerick
The grand prizes will be, like last year's, handmade warm and cozy afghans, but this year we have TWO!
One of this year's afghans (pictured left above) features blocks representing each of the 50 states plus
maps of the whole USA, all knitted into individual blocks with a beautiful knitted backing. This gorgeous afghan, created
especially for our winter reading program by the Windsor Locks Knitting group, is large enough and warm enough to
get you through any arctic blasts that might come your way. The photo does not do it justice, so stop in and see
the incredible detail on this work of art!
The other afghan (pictured above right) is a throw with 12 different
patchwork blocks in blue, green, brown, and rose,
and would be just perfect for cuddling up with a good book on a
cool day. Both are on display at the Circulation Desk throughout the program.
All entries that have not previously been chosen for a 2012 prize will be included in the drawing
for both afghans, which will be held on March 6. Each book you read and submit is another chance to win!
The last date for turning in entries will be March 5.
To submit your entry online, fill out the form below and click the SUBMIT button.
