~ LIBRARY FUNDRAISERS ~

PLANNERS:
Each year the library orders a limited number of beautiful planners with leather covers. They make beautiful stocking stuffers or gift for busy students. This year the planners are blue with black trim and the cover quote is a Chinese proverb: "A book is like a garden carried in the pocket." This year's planners are prices at $6 each. Supplies are limited, so purcahse one soon!

BOOK SALES: The Windsor Locks Library holds 3 book sales each year and also offers an ongoing book sale in our lobby. During the town's annual Winterfest celebration we celebrate by inviting the public in to stock up on winter reading and enjoy free refreshments. Book sales are also held in May-June and October with a special preview for our library card holders (since our sale space is small we have plenty of extra books to fill in before the official sale opens on Saturday!). All proceeds from our book sales are used to purchase new materials for the library's collection. Community support has always been phenonmenal and we thank you. Our next sale will be held on October 9 and will continue throughout the following week.

ECO-FRIENDLY TOTE BAGS: We have invested in some great environmentally friendly tote bags that will serve you well for years to carry books, groceries, or crafts. These polypropylene bags are royal blue and inscribed with the quote "So many books...So little time!". For only $3.00 each you can purchase bags for all of your friends and family. GIFT OF READING:
Books, DVDs, audiobooks, and Videos for the library's collection may be purchased by individuals as memorials or to honor individuals or organizations. This program is an especially popular way to honor a special teacher or to remember a loved one on a special occasion through the gift of reading. Simply print out our Gift of Reading Form (html version) on your home computer (forms are also available at the library). Choose the type of item that you wish to purchase for the library and the amount that you want to spend and the staff of the Windsor Locks Library will choose an appropriate item from our list of planned purchases or find one to match your specifications.

WELCOME BABY:
If you or someone you know is expecting a baby, be sure to sign up for a free Welcome Baby ~ Born to Read packet.

BRICKS OF REMEMBRANCE:
Bricks of Remembrance are a wonderful way to commemorate a special day or to honor a friend or loved one for a donation of just $50. Engraved bricks are placed in a landscaped patio just outside the front door of the library where they can be viewed and enjoyed by everyone who visits. A lovely park bench for meditation, relaxation, or watching the world go by has been placed by the patio. Download an order form or a PDF version of order from, or visit the library to pick one up.

Our novelty laminated bookmarks are available for almost any occasion for just $1.00. They make great teacher gifts and are perfect for that "something extra" to tuck into a birthday card!

If you live in Windsor Locks remember to keep your your library card up to date, or sign up for one the next time you are in the vicinity of the library. This small card entitles you to books, audiobooks, magazines, music, and movies (video and DVD) at EVERY library in Connecticut, all for free! You also need to present an up-to-date Connecticut library card in order to use our library PCs.
