NEEDLEWORK CLUB
for teens and adults. Bring your projects and join us for a
relaxing evening of knitting, crocheting, or
whatever needle craft you enjoy. Instruction in knitting and crochet is
available at every meeting (some materials are available as well).
Stop in and get acquainted with people who share your interest in
needlework or call today for more information.

ESOL conversation group for those who wish to practice their

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS ~ This 1 hour beginner's session will help those who lack experience or confidence using a personal computer
for basic tasks. The class will introduce students to basic hardware and software, the desktop, the mouse, and elementary functions of
Microsoft Word. Students will also briefly be introduced to the Internet and email. This class is primarily demonstration rather than hands-on and
is intended to help students develop the basic knowledge and skills necessary to enable them use a PC comfortably and safely.
Classes are limited to 3 people per session.

If you've never used a PC, you may need ABSOLUTE BEGINNER PC SKILLS, an hour-long one-on-one tutoring session that will
teach you the very basics of how to get started, including hands-on mouse training. Call Eileen for an appointment!

INTRODUCTION TO INTERNET SEARCHING ~ This 1 hour class introduces students to the basics of Internet searching,
including how to access the Internet, components of a web address, links, using standard buttons in Internet Explorer,
search engines, directories, and evaluating information found on the Internet. If time permits we will also talk about the
Connecticut Digital Library and Internet safety. Advance registration is required. Classes are limited to 4 people.

INTRODUCTION TO EMAIL ~ This 1 hour class provides information on how to use email and how to safely set up and use a
web-based email account (Hotmail or Yahoo). Topics covered include email addresses, mailboxes, address books, attachments,
email etiquette, SPAM, blocks and filters, and anti-virus protection. Advance registration is required. Classes are limited to 4 people.

Enjoy a Riverboat Dixieland Concert on the library lawn! This concert by "A Touch of Jazz" featuring Vin Cassotta is free to the public
and is co-hosted by the library and Step Up Main Street, a group dedicated to revitalizing and improving Windsor Locks' Main Street
corridor and strengthening an awareness of the street's historic past. The public is welcome to bring chairs or blankets and relax on the
library lawn to listen to music that will bring back memories of the days when steamboats navigated the Connecticut River and the
Windsor Locks Canal. Funding for the concert is provided by Dexter Plaza LLC.

focused on the life and works of L.M. Montgomery, author of the beloved Anne of Green Gables series, which was first published 100
years ago. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite tea cup and enjoy tea and refreshments after the program.
