Picture Book of the Week
Every week the children's librarian picks out a book she thinks is special. This week's book is "A Way With Wild Things," written by Larissa Theule and Illustrated by Sara Palacios
Poppy loves bugs, but always hides when she's around people. When a dragonfly flies to her at her grandmother's birthday party, she has to stay still, even though everyone is looking at her. She overcomes her fear of being noticed, and realizes she's a wildflower, not a wallflower.

This is a beautiful book with bright illustrations and lyrical writing. Children will love looking for Poppy when she's hiding, her clothes matching the different backgrounds. It has a great message about overcoming fears, but also embracing who you are.

Best for ages 4-7
