Children's Book of the Week:
'Pluto Gets the Call'

Each week our children's librarian is going to choose a different book to feature that she thinks is special.

This week's book is 'Pluto Gets the Call,' written by Adam Rex and illustrated by Laurie Keller.

Pluto finds out that he's not a planet after all in this hilarious picture book filled with facts about the solar system.  Pluto, who frequently addresses the reader, introduces us to the different planets and their unique traits, often in a silly way.

Elementary aged children will love this picture book because it uses humor to introduce scientific fact.  Each planet has its own personality, and they often argue with each other.  Speech bubbles are used instead of text, making it fun for the audience to read.

Best for ages 6-8.
