Notary Services

Notary appointments are available from 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM, walk-in service is not available. Appointments can be made over the phone, or by email.

In accordance with the Connecticut General Statutes the signer must bring to their appointment two (2) forms of ID.
These forms of ID include:

Primary: State issued Driver's license, state issued ID card or signed passport book (not card)

Secondary (something with a signature): signed credit or debit card, gun or fishing permit, work ID, pilot's license

Please note that birth certificates, social security cards, passports cards or Drive-Only licenses cannot be used as forms of ID.

To complete notarization:

Please prepare the documents prior to your appointment. Do not sign your signature until you are in the presence of the notary.

All signers must be present.

If your document requires witnesses, plan to bring your own. We do not witness documents.

Notaries can refuse service at their discretion.

Vital records (birth, marriage, and death certificates)

Notarization of Documents in a Foreign Language

We cannot notarize documents written in a foreign language – contact the Secretary of the State’s Office, Notary Division at 860-509-6137, and request the name of a notary who can read your documents.
