Library Director - Windsor Locks Public Library, Inc.

The Windsor Locks Public Library is seeking a Library Director, who is responsible for leading and organizing all aspects of the Library, managing the daily operations and administration. This includes but is not limited to personnel management, budgeting, short and long-term planning, and overall responsibility for the building facilities. Regularly assesses the needs of the community we serve and establishes and implements programs, activities and events to enhance and support the community. Interacts with a variety of people and organizations and ensures the Library is providing excellent customer service.


Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or MLS from an accredited institution; or equivalent education and experience. Three to five years of progressively responsible supervisory and management experience required. Excellent working knowledge of a public library and business principles and practices. Strong leader who is able to effectively communicate and interact with the public, Board and staff, ability to delegate effectively, encourage creativity, teamwork, and collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and payroll. Knowledgeable in technologies with a focus on those  affecting the operations of a Library, including social media platforms. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
